Oleage Waterless: Repairs and protects, naturally.
What are the underling processes of Oleage Waterless products? How do they work? And, most importantly, why do they yield tangible and completely natural results?
It all starts from two words: hydrolipidic film, a protective film and the cutaneous barrier that covers the skin, making it impermeable and nourishing its outermost layer (the epidermis, made up purely of cells). Its integrity is essential to preserving hydration and protecting the organism from micro-organisms and other damaging external agents.

- The hydrolipidic film is composed of:
Around 90% fat, much of which is produced by the sebaceous glands in the form of triglycerides, wax esters, ceramides, squalene, fatty acids, cholesterol and other lipids;Â
Around 10% water.
As time goes by, this natural barrier begins to ‘break down’, forming small ‘cracks’. Through these ‘micro-fractures’, the water contained within the dermis inevitably begins to escape and evaporate too quickly, and the structure of the skin becomes dehydrated. At this point, the hydrolipidic film loses its suppleness and softness, resulting in widening and deepening of the ‘cracks’.
When this occurs, it becomes imperative to restore the skin using oil-based substances with a high content of ceramides, fatty acids and cholesterol, which have the ability to keep the cutaneous barrier lubricated and delay the formation of more ‘cracks’ (while also treating pre-existing ones), rather like the mortar used to restore a brick wall ruined and crumbed by the years. However, contrary to what you might think, the hydrolipidic film repels water molecules just like an oily, waterproof layer.
What is the difference between our Waterless Beauty and other, water-based creams?

Oleage Waterless Beauty creams contain 0% water and 100% active ingredients

Other creams contain around 80%-90% water and 10%-20% active ingredients
